Beat the Heat!

I've been seriously considering getting Andy a plastic kiddie pool. If it gets hot enough this weekend I just might do it. Seriously.

Maymo + Penny + Shopping Cart

I can barely get Andy to sit...much less push a shopping cart.
Maymo is a wonder dog.

Maymo + Penny + Lime

Maymo has a sister! Why am I not surprised that Penny is also an adorable lemon beagle? She seems pretty tame so far, by Maymo standards that is. I'm looking forward to their dual hijinks. Check the pups out on Maymo's facebook fan page for all the latest!

Buttermilk the Pygmy Goat

This goat is out of control!
I would love to have pygmy goats someday.
On a related/unrelated note,
I would also love to adopt two Basset Hounds
and name them Biscuit and Gravy.

Fresh Step | Catdance

Fresh Step, makers of kitty litter galore, are sponsoring a short film contest called Catdance (Film Festival 2013)...a la Sundance. This short is called Catalogue, and is one of five entries competing for a viewer's choice prize. I'm partial to this one and the one called Fallen Star. Check 'em out and vote for a chance to win prizes. Happy Friday!

Mad Skills

Why teach a dog to drive? This video is part of a social media awareness campaign put out by SPCA Auckland, New Zealand, and car maker Mini Cooper. The campaign is meant to show people how smart and trainable many abandoned and surrendered dogs in fact are, the point being that dogs this smart deserve a home. This dog really is driving! The car has been modified with a paw-activated accelerator and brake and it only takes some high-pitched coaxing from a trainer to get him steering. Heck, this dog drives better than a lot of people I've seen on the streets here in Pennsylvania.

Check out SPCA Auckland's fan page for the campaign to learn more about these fantastically smart driving dogs.
