The nozzle, when combined with the wand, is great for reaching out-of-the-way piles of dust, while the Pet Brush attachment does a pretty good job of tackling fur on the couch. The Turbo Pet Power Paw, a nozzle attachment with a spinning brush, is one of the few features I could do without - it makes a lot of noise and looks impressive, but really, it doesn't do all that much.
One of my favorite things about this vacuum is that it's bagless. I hate the idea of shelling out money for an appliance that requires me to continue shelling out money in order for it to do what it's supposed to do. The canister is relatively high capacity and I only have to dump it once a month or so. The vacuum also has a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter which is supposed to be good for allergy sufferers. Eureka sells replacement filters but I just clean it periodically with water and dish soap and that seems to work fine.
For $59.00 I'm pleased with the Optima's performance and hope to get at least another 4 years out of it. If you're looking for a lightweight vacuum, with a powerful nozzle, it's a model definitely worth considering. An effective vacuum is key to combating allergens in your environment. The Eureka Optima Pet Lover Bagless Lightweight Upright Vacuum with Turbo Nozzle (model 439AZ) is available at amazon.com.
